Hey Mom, I Made It to the Opry! In conversation with Sacha

By: Sadie Christine

2025 has been a major year for country singer-songwriter Sacha, who has hit many milestones. From releasing her second album, Woman in the Mirror, to making her Grand Ole Opry debut, Sacha is country music’s newest It Girl.

We had the honour of sitting down with her to talk about all things authenticity, new music, her experience at the Opry, fashion, and which song from her recent album she feels resonates with her the most right now.

WH: Congratulations on your Opry debut! That is incredible. What was that experience like? How are you feeling?

Sacha: It felt great! Still in disbelief that it has come and gone so fast. That is a moment I will forever cherish, and that’s one of the biggest ones in the books for me.

WH: After having such a successful 2025, what’s next for you in 2026? What are you looking forward to?

Sacha: New music! I am so looking forward to getting back into the creative process and all the shows we get to do. I have a vinyl coming as well, but right now I’m in the moment with everything that happened with the Opry and getting ready to jump on tour with Restless Road.

Sacha is already working on new music after the release of her album Woman in the Mirror, with breakout singles like Hey Mom I Made It, Till I Don’t, and Shooting Star.

WH: What was the creative process like for Woman in the Mirror?

Sacha: I remember sitting on my bed here in Nashville and sorting through emotions and areas where I wanted to be more courageous. I remember having these thoughts and melodies and the whole feeling of being like, “How do I set myself free?” and others along with it. So Woman in the Mirror is about, if I ever become the totally free version of myself, what a powerful version of myself that would be, and I would like to meet her. And realizing that is the woman in the mirror, you just have to bring her out.

Our entire conversation with Sacha was very impactful and powerful. You can tell how much she puts into her artistry, which was very inspiring. She talks about how, for this album, life and her emotions were her biggest inspirations and how being in Nashville heightens creative energies. She found herself listening to soundtrack and instrumental music as something that quieted her mind to get her into a place to write authentically.

Of course, we had to ask her which artists inspire her and help bring out her creativity.

Sacha: I love Lainey Wilson, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, so many artists, but Stephan Wilson Jr. was a real driving force in my ambition to become a better writer and to continue to write about the real things. He is someone I really look up to in terms of writing and tapping into a time and a feeling and vein that is universal.

In our WH newsletter, we are implementing a new section called “What’s Your Era,” which is about what song best describes how you are today and a song that most resonates with you right now. So we wanted to know what Sacha’s era is from her most recent album, and her answer perfectly sums up where she is at right now.

Sacha: I think today we’ll go with “Hey Mom I Made It.” Only because that is such a real thing right now, especially with the Opry debut and having my mom for the first time in town and everything we’ve been through and I’ve been through, and where I am today. And this song is not about the traditional markers of success; it’s not about making it to the Opry, but more or less being that 17-year-old who was homeless, having a family breakdown that led me to the streets, and having this dream and having to live real life and work full time at 17, and having a life-transformational direction and fulfilling and living a dream. I’m okay today! And that’s what “Hey Mom I Made It” is. More than okay if you look at the dream side of things—I just feel like I’m at a place where I’m good. So that’s the era I’m in right now.

That was such a beautiful answer and a great way to wrap up this interview. Before we both logged off of the Zoom, we asked Sacha about fashion and if there is a piece in her wardrobe that best expresses who she is as an artist and feels the most authentically “you,” because here at WH we love all things music—and also fashion and style!

Sacha: “I’m a fashion fanatic. I love designing and creating with my team all these looks, and I feel like there are so many turn-the-pages with me and facets of my character. When it comes to fashion, I like to dress up on stage and design looks, but for a music video, that is more of my everyday self.

She told us she feels most authentically herself in her music video Til I Don’t, adding: “The only thing is, I wasn’t in a backwards cap or ball cap. Catch me in a pair of jeans with a tear in it and a simple T-shirt. I can go from plain Jane to super high fashion.”

We thank Sacha for making the time to talk with us, especially on the week of her Opry debut! You can catch Sacha on tour dates with Restless Road in November and 2026 dates with Old Dominion in April and May! Be sure to stay up to date with Sacha on all her socials!

Stay wild, stay authentic, stay country.
