The girlies have been well aware of Megan Moroney for years, but the release of her second album “Am I Okay?” set her ablaze as a country music phenomenon.

“Am I Okay?” is an album filled with vibrant expressions of love, heartbreak, and forgiveness. Megan’s clever and authentic lyricism produced a range of tracks from fun upbeat country pop songs like “Man on the moon” to her branded “emo cowgirl” ballads like “28th of June.” The album brought her many accolades and was the first album to ever win “Best Country” at the VMA’s. Megan built a universe of sparkles, boots and tutus that the girls wore as uniform to belt out every word together at shows.
This week Megan announced her third album “Cloud 9” which will drop in February of next year. Marking the start of her next era, she teased the end of her blue aesthetic by opening a window into a bubbly pink world which fans had been theorizing would be the next album colour from the recently released “6 Months later” music video back in July.
With all this excitement around the new era we thought we’d say goodbye to “Am I okay?”, all the things it’s meant to fans and all the milestones it brought to Megan’s Career. We asked the girls who run the popular Megan Moroney Updates account @megmoroneytours on instagram, which has amassed over twenty two thousand followers since July of 2024, what “Am I okay?” has meant to them and they each had something unique to say:
““Am I Okay?” got me through some difficult moments in my life. The era was so special, I remember refreshing my feed every 5 seconds on opening night of tour to see what the stage setup looked like, to know what was on the setlist, everything. Everything about the album and this era was perfect. Long live the “Am I Okay?” era!”
““Am I Okay?” is a very special album to me because it has a song for every mood / emotion. Feeling sad? listen to heaven by noon. Feeling happy? listen to am i okay or the girls! feeling heartbroken? listen to break it right back. the most perfect album ever.”
““Am I Okay?” is an album that kinda changed my life in a way. You can be happy or sad and the album still hits. Heartbroken anthems, friendship anthems, love anthems, she has it all on am i okay?. It made me connect to Megan a lot, hearing songs that it felt as if she was like singing the situation I was going through and that she went through it too.”
““Am I Okay?” to me is so many things. I feel so grateful that it has been such a success where she sold out the tour, and has reached new heights, and opportunities that make me feel so lucky to be a fan and witness this growth! It’s so comforting to listen to her songs and know that other people have felt the same exact way as me, and that there is music that can help you get through it. Bless your heart and heaven by noon especially for me, but the album as a whole as well!”
The Am I okay tour was a moment for women in country music, breaking records and spanning multiple continents. Megan was doing ticket sales never seen before by a female country artist selling over 20,000 this summer at Cheyenne Frontier Days alone. The tour was a celebration of fan girls and established megan as a headliner. There were many elements that made this tour forever iconic from Meghan’s punchy entrance to “Man on the moon” to the little girls she crowned “miss universe.”

But, a key standout was her plethora of sparkly bodysuits and tutus that serve as a symbol of the era. The girls from @megmoroneytours weighed in with some of their favourite tour outfits:
“I loved the black!”

“I really loved the navy one”

“Light blue dress!”

“Her man on the moon long sleeve dress sets!”

The “Am I Okay?” era will always be a special time to the fans, as we say goodbye to blue and welcome what pink has in store. Lastly the girls of @megmoroneytours shared with us their favourite tracks off the album being Third times the charm, Miss Universe, Heaven By noon and I’ll Be Fine. Which is just another indicator of the spectrum and range this album brought to Megan’s discography. “Am I Okay?” is inspiring the next generation of country and has made its mark on fans and the industry, pushing the boundaries for female country artists. We’ll see you on cloud 9!
Stay wild, Stay emo, Stay Country
