Conor Cassidy is bringing Americana Country back

By: Sadie Christine

Conor Cassidy might not be a name that has broken through in country music just yet, but we have no doubt he’s a star in the making. Originally from England, Conor has now found himself in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where he is currently pursuing his path as an artist.

Conor grew up in a musical household and has written songs and toured with artists from the original lineups of big bands like The Sex Pistols and The Kooks.

His heartfelt country singer-songwriter sound, mixed with old-school Americana and influences like Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen, brings a fresh take to the genre. One that has been rising in popularity again, as we’ve seen with Zach Bryan and Jason Isbell.

We follow Conor on TikTok, and we mean it when we say he is all over our FYP, connecting to his fan base with consistent engaging content.

His most recent single, “Violent Storm,” dropped on August 15th and is a heartfelt track with beautiful string accompaniment, harmonica, and layered harmonies.

In one of his latest TikToks, Conor joked: “Twirling my thumbs because my new song just came out and I’m not playing Madison Square Garden yet.” Well, if he keeps releasing authentic Americana like he has been, we believe that dream isn’t too far off.

You can catch him at BreakOut West in Winnipeg this September!
